Dumpster Diving

Rouss May 10th, 2008

Dumpster diving (I know, I know) it’s messy but it’s a great way to get free parts and pieces for your next project. So far I have scored a Sony all-in-one stereo, Technics dual tape deck, strobe light, and a HP printer/scanner. These items have various components like pushbuttons, LEDs, potentiometers, motors, among other things. This is from one dumpster outside my apartment. More than likely you wont have to jump in and dig but sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do. I found all of these items on top.

Great for Storage

Rouss April 29th, 2008

These bins are great for holding all of the small electronic and other assorted hardware. I use it to hold resistors, capacitors batteries, screws, wire, connectors and a lot more junk. It has removable dividers to customize the size. They run about 6 dollars at Harbor Freight. Also using an overhead marker is a good way to label each compartment.
